Shaping by Bending
Wood has always been a traditional building material, inspiring artists, architects, and engineers throughout history. In the 20th century, pavilions were established as experimental architecture. They shaped the future of architecture more than the permanent buildings because they allowed architects to materialize new concepts quickly. Due to their small scale and short life span, pavilions are used to test new technologies without high construction costs and long-term cultural impact. For this pavilion, the design process was developed at 3 different levels: MATERIAL, STRUCTURAL and SPATIAL.
