Aether Eye

Architectural object, Timisoara 16th-22nd July 2012 | The workshop was led by IDZ Arhitectura, Ionut & Dana Anton. Digital technology techniques were used to generate answers for a real context. The site analysis gave us the architectural object's creative process parameters. Through digital fabrication like 3d printing and CNC milling, the virtually generated geometries were materialized at a small scale and then at the real scale.

The workshop had 3 stages:

The first was represented by a series of tutorials, which helped the participants become more familiar with the parametric design processes using plugins like Grasshopper, Geco + Ecotect, Kangaroo, and digital fabrication techniques.

For the second stage, the participants had to study the relationships between the site's geometrical parameters and a design process using physical force simulations.

The last stage was dedicated to 3d printing prototypes and assembling Aether Eye Installation at full scale.
