02 Shackleton Crater
LOCATION: MOON'S SOUTH POLE. An EXTREME ENVIRONMENT with extreme light and dark conditions: CONTINUOUS LIGHT on the rim and CONTINUOUS DARKNESS inside the crater with water-ice deposits. PROGRAM: SCIENTIFIC PERMANENT BASE fully integrated into the Moon's extreme environment with reduced gravity, cosmic radiation, zero atmospheres, and high-velocity micrometeorite impact threat.
The same layers from the Prosthesis (structural, thermal, impact, and radiation) are used for the Moonbase similarly; the difference is that the impact exterior protective layer would be 3d printed with regolith.
The DENSITY VARIATION PROCESS is used to design the protective layers and the structural elements. Research on the moon's rocks' porosity and how the moon dust could be used in the 3d printing process.
A special thanks to Javier Ruiz from Softbiome for teaching the density variation process inside Houdini Engine.
